"j&w® Cleaning services have cleaned an air cooled condenser on our 30MW Steam Turbine on 3 seperate occasions.
Their method of cleaning is effective and dirt and some of the scale build up is removed right through the finned tube bundle. An immediate improvement in the cooling efficiency can be seen even after the cleaning of one cooler battery.
The equipment they use is well constructed and carefully engineered. The temporary installation was professionally performed. The high pressure water jets were always kept perpendicular to the fins and no fin damage was evident after the cleaning.
The site was keft clean and tidy after completion of the job."

After the cleaning with the cleaners a company for non-destructive testing did an examination of the tubes with an endoscope. This company announced, it would be very rare to see such a good quality like in these cleaned tubes.
Results
After return to operation the following improvement in performance could be measured:
- Delta T before cleaning: 7,0
- After cleaning: 2,7 (dT)
- Before cleaning: p = 60 - 65 mbar
- After cleaning: p = 44,4 mbar
6 MW x 45 Euro/MWh x 24 h x 365 days x 75% = ~ 13,500,000.00 ZAR/year
